Front Brake replacement S80 1999

Something happened to my left outside front brake pad. I started hearing a grinding sound(metal on metal), and found that the outside rotor has a groove cut about in the middle of it. How difficult is it to chang brake pads? Also do I have to get the rotor cut to remove the groove, and do I need to do both front wheels. I think all the other pads are in good shape. Thanks for the help!
