Used remote entry fobs 850 1996

Maybe you can help me. I just purchased a 93 850 from a private party. It doesn't have an owners manual. I can not get the radio to work. When it comes up code I put in the numbers then it says tape but nothing works. This is my first Volvo and I love it. It is need of repairs and but has great potential. Any tips may help.
