2001 volvo s40 heating blower problem

Hi Steve,
Thanks kindly for your response.
Could you be more specific about the unit you are talking about (power stage) and exact location of it?
The fan in 2001 s40 is right underneath the glove compartment and I do not recall that I have seen anything there beside it. The only thing I see looks like short extention to the power cord with some electronics built into it. I suspect that might be the diode that was mentioned in some earlier recall and added later?
