Air filter observations S70 2000

Man, I'm almost afraid to even post this with all of the air filter extremists trolling the boards these days.

I have been playing around with air filters a bit and had some observations that I wanted to share and see if anyone else has had the same experience. I have both a K&N panel filter and an Amsoil TS panel filter for my S70 GLT (IPD ECU). I have been running the Amsoil filter for a while and decided to pop my trusty old K&N back in and see if I noticed a difference. Well, I did. And it was significant.

The transient response was much improved. Throttle response and throttle tip in was much improved. The car felt like it had more life whereas with the Amsoil TS it seemed a bit unresponsive.

Anyone else experience this?

I don't mean to knock Amsoil. I am a great fan of their products and use just about everything they make. So I don't believe I have an anti-Amsoil bias. Maybe I over oiled or something.

As far as the K&N dirt concerns and all of the Nazis that spread the terror I have just one thing to say...if this is what dirt feels like, then bring on the dirt! I know that there are people that have had good oil analysis results with K&N and others perhaps not so.
