2.4L Low CYL Compression 850

Just found 2 cylinders at 40 psi compression on my 1995 850GLT. I added oil and they came up quite a bit. Must be either bad rings and or cylinder walls. This car is average with 170k miles on it, worth about $5000 with a good engine. Do I do a engine job with the block in the car, or pull eng and work it over, or is there a way to come up with another used engine???
