glove box 850

have done this recently on my 850.
here are the volvo parts # you will need. approx. $25 dollars

the hack saw ultimatley was the best method, the glove box door bends surprising wide do not be afraid. there are other threads on this site that i looked up before i started. please do the search on them and then read them.
basically wedge something between the govebox door and the dash till you can see the latch clasp in the middle of the door, use tape to prevent scuffing either side. hacksaw your way thru both sides of the u shaped clasp. the door falls open and you must replace the u shaped clasp and the actual lock mechanism/handle( which is the real culrpit) on the glovebox door by taking the screws off the inside of the glovebox door. only use the blade of the hacksaw not the whole saw. get the parts first and you will see what is being done, this is the cheapest and fastest way. good luck
