You probably have another, unseen problem. V70-XC70 2001

What can you do to prevent that from happening? K&N Filter? Premium fuel?

What should be checked with the regular tune ups? Just check that the throttle body is clean? Is it possible to just open it up and clean it out periodically to make sure it doesn't kill the engine?

I'm thinking of buying a 2001 XC with about 41k miles on it. What should I watch for/what will be expensive to fix in the future?

My current 1990 240DL has been problem free and pretty easy to fix. I'm nervous about taking on more expensive repairs.

Thanks!
