Tranny Mounts Replacement 850 1995

I replaced all the engine/transmission bushings when I replaced my engine (don't ask). Replacement is not difficult. You have to raise the engine for some of them -- an engine hoist is easier/safer than a transmission jack. Don't forget the motor mounts above the engine to the firewall: they fail long before any other bushing, and you can often see visible breaks in the rubber.

I replaced that top bushing with the IPD poly bushing. The IPD bushing does not require a press; I think the Volvo standard one does. My wife complains the engine is too loud at idle, but it quiets right down once underway.

Other than the engine hoist, no unusual tools are required. You can do this in an afternoon.
