Heater Core Fog Issue - Any Quick Fix? V70-XC70 1999

My 99' XC has all the symptoms of heater core death (the smell, the fog, the loss of coolant, the agony). I'm going to have it replaced next week, but in the meantime I can't see out my windshield! It's winter, I drive 70+ miles a day, and I can't be sticking my head out the window like a dog the whole time (no offense to dogs).

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do in the interim to at least see what lane I'm in? I tried Rain-X antifog windshield cleaner, but it actually made the problem worse.
