I disagree

It's not the denso or motronics part that is the problem. It's the Electronic throttle components made by Marelli that's in both cars that has the high failure rate, 40-50% failure rate.

Both turbos and NA engines use the Marelli electronic throttle. According to my readings, the thin conductive film that is used inside the module to send the readings to the ECU, wears out rapidly because of the sweeping motion of the the sensor inside the module.

Even volvo techs that participate in this board agree. They would not buy a '99-'00 turbo or NA unless it comes with an extended warranty
