Time for Regular Service Message S40-V40 2004

Ann,

Good luck! I have an '02 S60 that says the same thing every 7500 miles. The Volvo dealer says that you can have them reset it for $20 or they'll do it for free with a $30 oil change. Personally, I prefer the $18 oil changes that I get up the street.

I just figured out how to reset the "Time for Regular Service" reminder in the message center - but it was pretty much by accident. It does have something to do with the T1 Reset button and the ignition switch, but I had been to half a dozen message boards and two Volvo dealers before finally stumbling upon how to get that message erased in my own car.

This is how it worked in mine:

1) Ignition off
2) T1 Reset button pushed
3) Ignition to II position
4) Odometer goes back to original mileage
5) Ignition to Off position
6) Restart the car and see if it works.

If not, try using the Read and Reset buttons on the turn signal and manipulating the ignition key.

Good luck!
