CV Boot Replacement 850 1994

While changing my front brakes I noticed I have a tear in my passenger outer CV boot. Calling around my indie shop quoted me $287 to replace the inner and outer boots (not axel), but from reading hear it sounds as if it’s easy to just replace the half axel (and cheaper! $95 for rebuilt half axel from FCPGroton.com). Is replacing the passenger side half axel much worse then doing the brakes? Does anyone have any suggestions, tips, or instructions for the job? Also since I have a 94 850 what bolt do I have to replace during the repair, is it the bolt that holds the hub on?

Thanks in advance,
Scott
