OK....the emergency brake design on the 70's seems totally inadequate!! While I did change out the shoes/rotors about 2 years ago it never worked right and now the little shoes CONSTANTLY touch the rotor and they make a scrapping sound on the highway. I have looked at the design and the shoes literally "FLOAT" all over the place!!! Is there something I am missing?? Yes I have adjusted to no avail!! It appears the only thing that locates the shoes are 2 lousy spring face clips......which allows the shoes to float a good 1/2 inch in each direction!!! Any insight????
