Fired Electronic S70 1999

I am looking for advice. I took my 99 S70 to a Volvo Certified Shop (in businss for 10+ years) to have a rear seal replaced. It was running just fine.
While in the shop the following parts got "fried: DIM. ECU, Control Module, Trottle Module, transmission solenoid and transmission computer.

The shop blames it on a "heat damaged" wiring harness. I have another opinion and wonder if anyone out here might have one also. I'm not posting mine because I don't want to influence anyone.

If you have thoughts to share (and especially facts to support) I would appreciate your help since I am most likely headed to court.

Thanks Much
Wade
