Need help with CEL codes 850 1997

Although when I hear the term "wastegate", I think turbo, although since you have the air pump, I guess you're not a turbo. If the wastegate being referred to is somehow related to the EGR, I'd bet fixing your pump would fix this code.

The only time I have heard of a non-turbo engine shooting out turbo engine codes was an instance where the owner took it to a gen-eu-ine Volvo dealership where they pulled completely seperate codes from the computers.
