HU-613 Radio AM Tuner

The AM tuner in my HU-613 radio (V70) has a fairly high pitched "warbling" background noise when in less than ideal reception areas. When I turn the engine off this noise goes away completely.

Before I mention it to the dealer (who will say "Yeah, they all do that") I thought I'd check with the real experts.

Is it just my car or do they REALLY all do that?
