Nope...you have to have the Volvo Reset Tool or Volvo Scan Tool. I have a '98 S70 and it's the same thing. You can sometimes find the VRT on eBay. I bought one a while back for $63 with shipping...only sold by those in England as far as I can tell. You can see one for $180+ at www.ipdusa.com.
