Engine Revs increase and decrease in lower gears whilst driving up inclines/hills or under load 850

Ive only just recently purchased my Automatic 1996 Red 850R with 113000kms here in Sydney,Australia and am going through the initial sorting out of various little problems.
The main annoying problem is that the engine revs hunt up inclines or underload. It does it under slow constant acceleration only. Under full throtle acceleration with the turbo on full boost (hold on) the power from the engine is delivered beautifully hard and fast. The auto trany shifts smoothly and the gears are held well to give fantastic acceleration.

SO No the trany isnt hunting .....just the engine revs go up and down perhaps 100 0r 200 rpm.....the transmission stays in the one gear and I dont suspect anything is wrong at all with it.

Im only talking about the engine hunting in revs up hills only, once transmission is in top gear there is no hunting.

Is there a faulty sensor somewhere?!?

Any ideas???
