Goodbye Ole Volvo Pals!!! V70-XC70 1998

My previous car was a Mazda MX-6 GT. (4-cyl 12-valve turbo w/Aisin-Warner 4-spd automatic)

'88 model I got 12/87, in TX, from Michigan plant. By '95 it was all used up.

The '95 854T has been a better car, for longer, needing fewer repairs. OTOH, the Volvo came as an unfinished "kit car" with serious problems (excessive turbo whine, non-functional suspension) that precluded enjoying it, something that was never true of the Mazda (blown head gasket to the contrary).

My Mazda was more lovable; my Volvo is more likable.

Good luck with your Mazda; if you don't expect it to be (or last as long as) a Volvo, you may be pleasantly surprised; if you do expect it to be a Volvo, you may be disappointed.

- Dave; '95 854T, 160K mi
