opinion on 94 850 Wagon 850

I was the runner up on a recent ebay bid and the seller contacted me for the purchase.

the wagon was advertised as running excellently, no accidents, cold air, recently tuned by a master volvo mechanic, heated seats, solid interior, and everything works. also smooth shifting auto transmission.

my bid was $2700

I am going to call the person tomorrow to ask if I can look at the car first. the pictures do not reveal any significant concerns, however, I want a closer look and test drive.

my question is what major problems do 850's have particularly a 1994 one? I have had many 240's, 740's and one 940T and can do just about anything for these cars yet know very little about an 850. I assume they have the same reputation for longevity as the others so long as proper maintenance is performed.

I have the special tool to change the timing belt on my now sold 940T (my wife wanted a honda minivan so I capitulated. Would I need this tool for the 850? also I have the auto transmission flush tube from IPD. Will this work on the 850?

thanks in advance for any comments

Tim
