Tranny line filter V70-XC70 1998

Last Christmas, I ordered a filter for my tranny from IPD. It was too cold to install back then, so I just looked at it today. Now I have 2nd thoughts. If I screw up, the dealer will want about $140 for a new line. Has anyone done this? Got a picture? How far back from the radiator did you cut the line? How much extra line was cut and tossed? Did the filter cause too much back pressure in the pumps and now you hear things?
Maybe I will wait until next Monday, when parts is open!
