self-install battery; repair shop in NY city or Paramus 850

Thanks Klaus for the specific instructions -- I'm sure they will help! (and thanks to Jot and Ken for their replies!)

I've been reading on this site that a "solar trickle charger" is a good idea for folks like me who may not drive every day. I'm going to investigate getting one of those along with my new battery. By the way, I was going to get a Volvo battery from a Volvo dealer but I've seen Interstate MT 47 mentioned in the forums. Any more thoughts on what battery (brand) is best for a car that sits a lot, and also in cold weather?

Thanks,
Ellee H.
