Emission system service required S80 1999

I have the same problem. My 99 s80 had the evap system/emissions service message at 99,548 miles. Took it to my local mechanic and he said that the code was PO442. They tested the system and found nothing and cleared the code.
Now I'm at 100,900 miles and it is back on. Car runs normal.
