jack stand points front end 850 850 1995

I am going to replace my half shaft, and while I have never used a jack stand on a car, this seems like a great time to start (envision lying on back trying to pry and pull shaft while under car). My question is, what would be an appropriate place to jack/support the front corner. There is a squarish section of the chassis under the transmission that the control arms attach to that looks like a good candidate. The control arms attach to the two sides that parallel the axis of the car, and two run perpendicular creating the square (is this called the a-frame - it looks square but the sides may taper in). Can I pick any spot along these members to support the corner? TIA Don
