99 T6 Transmission Service Required message S80

I hope I can get some help. I have a 99 S80, T6 with 83k. I just recently had the ABS module rebuilt due to the usual "Brake Failure", "ABS Failure", and "STC Failure" messages accompanied by this normal problem at this mileage. However, after re-installation of the rebuilt module, all message went away except the "Transmission Service Required" message remained "on". The car is driving and shifting fine. Can someone give me some clues?

Also ... do you check the transmission fluid in this car with the engine idling or not. There is no instructions in the Owners manual or on the dipstick like typical American cars?

Thanks in advance.
