850 buying advise 850

I've been in the market for an 850 for a while now and I've come across a '93 850 with only 75,000 miles in great condition, complete with records. I heard that the '93 was the worst year to buy an 850 because it was the first year Volvo made a front wheel drive/5 cylinder engine. Is this true? Which is the best year to buy a non-turbo 850? I've also been looking at '95s and '96s because of the side airbags. Any buying advise would be greatly appreciated.
