850 engine 850 1996

OK, so maybe I made a huge mistake! I let go of my '91 240 wagon, because it had 232,000 on it, and needed a lot more TLC than I had time for these days. So I "upgraded" to a '96 850 wagon, 156,000 miles on it. Bought it fairly cheap, because it had what the seller called a "skip at idle," which he claimed could be a bad plug, or wire, or seal, or... who knows. Had it checked out by a local indie shop. What I got back was: "Eng code: 452 #2 Cyl misfire #2 cylinder compression 25PSI"

So, the question is, are the options truly what I'm being told: junk the car, or replace the engine? And if so, what is a reasonable amound I should expect to pay for engine replacement? Rebuilt? Salvage?

I think I miss Carl, my old 240!
