CD Player Not Playing Burned CD's S70 1999

My 1998 S70 T5 is not nearly as particular as my 2000 Chrysler LHS. And the CD-Changer in my S70 is the best for playing CD-Rs I have found.

The primary reason for this is that the substrate (the metal layer in the disc that actually contains the data) is by design unfortunatly not as reflective as a stamped disc (comercially printed CD albums).

The solution is to try different CD-R discs with different colored substrates, some are almost silver, some are green, some are blue, etc. until you find one that works well with your CD player. I have had goos results with Verbatim and TDK's medical grade ink-jet printable CDs.

CD-RWs will almost never work with regular consumer stereo equipment as CD-RWs use a different encoding method. Pleyers that supoport CD-RWs most often specifically list the compatability on their documentation.
