a/c compressor cycling 850 1993

The compressor wouldn't work on :93 850. There is no voltage at the low pressure switch, indicating perhaps a bad a/c relay. I wired from battery to low pressure switch, and compressor worked about 2 minutes and quit (air vents put out cool air, but not cold) then comp. started cycling again for about a minute, then cycles off again. This on/off cycle continues. I put in 13 oz 134a, but on/off cycle continues. Could the temp sensor in the compressor be bad? Nothing's been replaced in 202k miles. Could use some help. Thanks
