tick tick noise =valves? 850

Hi,
Did a change oil service yesterday and tried Mobil syn blend from regular 10w/30. For some reason during cold start the tick tick noise w/c i believe are the valves are significantly obvious as far as sound is concerned, i was hoping it would at least minimize the tick since i changed the oil? Kinda' overfilled putting oil (5 2/3 qts) as indicated in the dipstick, was thinking of topping off to correct level figured it contributed to valve tick noise?
It goes away after some time but it wasn't like that obvious before change oil....
