Search the archives on how to pull codes. Then you can check here: http://www.volvospeed.com/maintence.htm to see what they might mean.

Volvos are sensitive to their spark plugs - you might want to change the plugs, wires, dist cap and rotors if not done lately.

And there are a bunch of other things that might be at fault too, air filter, fuel pressure regulator and various sensors.

But the first place to start is getting code from the computer to see if it knows what is going on.
