First time Volvo owner needs advice 850

The trans flush recommendation is a solid piece of advice. I would add to that a brake fluid flush and check a few known pattern failure items like upper spring seats for the front struts, upper torque stay bushings, engine mounts, rotted vacuum elbows, worn out cap, rotor, and wires. How does the a/c work? You might want to check for the presence of a retro fitted cabin filter and if it already has one go ahead and change it out. How about the serpentine belt and the radiator. The radiators seem to last about 100K +/-. Check to make sure that the odometer still works and that you have all of your dash lights. These are just some of the common pattern failures we see on the 850 S70 line of cars.
