Auto Transmission swap/interchange? 850 1994

Hi,

I have a 1994 850 turbo with a transmission that looks like it needs to be replaced. (No codes, but it no longer goes into reverse at all. Just revs like crazy when I give it gas like it is in neutral -but the brake lights go on so the car is in reverse for real. Fluid just flushed). Does anyone know if I need a specific transmission? All I can find is that the AW50-40 is used on this car -but can I use an AW50-40 out of another car, such as a 1997 850? Does it have to come from a turbo car? If they are the same transmission might a tranny from a nonturbo car be less likely to fail?
