Bought a 94 850, couple questions 850

Just bought a 94 850 with 116,000. I took it to the volvo mech. he check it out had to replace a vacuum line and fix a crack pvc hose... that was nearly a month ago a day after i bought it.. now when i first start the car mainly, and a few minutes after I smell a sulfer type foul ordor in the car.. and it seems to go away after the car warms up a little, but sometimes last longer. Any ideas on what this is?

Also I bought a remote for the car, but dosent seem to be working, do all the models support remotes?? I dont know if the remote is broken or its just my car never had a remote.

I am putting 92 fuel in the car per the owners manual.. do you think this is neccessary??
