98 V70 Ignition switch replacement V70-XC70

Hi:

Looking for some help/advice.... I have '98 V70 with a degraded ignition switch. Occasionally (slowly getting worse), car won't start as if there is a 'shift-lock' issue. If I wiggle key in ignition, car starts. Issue is also observed with occasional headlights/dashlights being out. Again, wiggle key, bam - back on.

Thus, I wish to replace ignition switch. I called dealer to get estimate and it is $510 for parts and labor. My Haynes manual shows replacement process taht doesn't seem that bad. I plan to call dealer thaat sells Volvo parts at discount for parts pricing.

Has anyone done this job before and can you buy correct part from dealer without needing specific key part?

thanks!
