Yet another A/C question 850 1996

There ya go, stuff in half a can and see what happens. Obviously you do not want to overcharge the system but even if you screw up royally and add way too much to it that is where the blow off valve comes in. Let me tell you if you are not expecting it the blow off valve can and will scare the crap out of you when it blows. I've seen a couple of 960's in the past that were having cooling fan problems, it wasn't coming out, and it would allow the refrigerant to get really hot. Hot enough to generate pressure enough to blow that valve open. If your compressor is coming on and off that fast a half can should not over charge it at all.

Good luck,
Mark
