My '99 S80 2.9 died on me. Any ideas? S80 1999

Hi All,

While driving back from the airport yesterday my car died on me; like someone pulled the plug from the engine. I had it in cruise control when going down a hill about 70 MPH, it lost power; the panel lit up like a Christmas tree and then the engine died. I still had lights though. The car would turn over, but then it would not start. The engine tried to start, but it would hesitate and die again. The only warning light that was on was the check engine light.

I had the car towed, and upone getting it off the truck, it started right up, with no problems. I drove it 30 miles to work today like nothing happened. It just turned 80k miles.

Anyone have an idea why this happened?
