oil: qty and type 850

ok, i still have some questions...

when you say it takes 6.4 qts to fill it...is that just drained from the pan, and a new oil filter, or do you also drain the oil cooler that the owner's manual talk about...owners manual says 6.1 qts for engine oil, and then .9 (or something) if oil cooler is removed.

i just drained the oil pan, and placed a new oil filter...i put about 6.5 qts and this morning went to check it, and it was too high, so i took out about 3/4 of a qt.

im confused
