Plastic Weld

I have seen a few references to "Plastic Weld" posted. I was not familiar with this adhesive. Researching, I have found Solder It (TM) Plastic Weld for sale on the Web. It is an epoxy that sets when heated to 190 degrees F, available in white or black. The Solder It website lists 0.25 oz tubes for $8 ea. I assume this is the right product.

Is it worth the effort to get it? Does anyone know if any chain stores would carry it or would I have to order it? I only saw a couple of websites that carried this product.
