Cure for surging idle -- clean the PCV nipple! S80

I tried this and found out that's its impossible to pull the hose of this nipple with my hand. I might be able to pry it off with a screw driver, but I'm afraid I won't be able to reinstall.
I was thinking that maybe if one was to remove the ETM by her four bolts off the manifold, she would drop down and make it a lot easier to clean this PVC nipple. Any suggestions out there?
