brake pad replacement S40-V40

No harder than any other car. If you've replaced disk pads before, it's a cake walk. As long as the pads are not making noise yet and the rotors are smooth you can just slide the new pads in without even removing the rotors. Rear calipers rotate clockwise as you push them in. Use a 6in C-clamp to do so.

I did all four wheels last fall at 26,000mi changing over to Mintex pads. Rears were beginning to make noise but the fronts had at least 10K more to go. Braking is just as good and wheels stay cleaner.

Cost from FCPGroton:
$35 front set
$25 rear set
$18 to have the rear rototrs turned at a local shop.

Was done in one afternoon with most of my time driving the rotors to be turned and pounding my wheels off with a rubber mallot - they were frozen on pretty good.

Change your brake fluid while you're at it.
