Don't know about the '99 V70-XC70 1999

You have a later model V70 and the routing is already of the later style. Your mechanic is correct, no suprise there, and the guy at auto zone well he is just "the guy at auto zone", know what I mean? Your belt should be a 9458376 or a 6DK-1836 if using a Conti belt and it will be ribbed on either side. The joke at Volvo school when they came out with those was that when you wore out one side you could just flip it over and it was good for another 60K! Wouldn't it be nice?
