Panel beating - to be or not to be 850 1996

Modern paint techniques will allow a repair job with near factory result from a good shop. A good paint shop will also be able to make this repair without compromising the finish on the car. Chances are, the car will rust somewhere else first, especially since this is a door repair we are talking about.

As for the rattles and such, you are correct that there is a risk of a future rattle, but here again if the shop is a good one they will replace any clips they damage during disassembly.

Get a written report of all work done so if you have a problem when you pick up the car you can take it back and have the problem corrected.

Good luck
