Start with the simple 850 1997

As mentioned before, get a recharge kit with a pressure gauge and start with the simple and quick fix.

Check pressure at the low pressure port with the AC running at full blast. If pressure is below 20 psi, the system is low and needs a charge. Presure should be between 30 to 40 psi. If pressure is over 40 psi, then the ystem is well charged and somethindg else is the problem and you need to take the car to a reputable AC shop.
