Steering looseness 850

My wifes 850 T5 seems to have lost some of the tight feeling in the steering. While it's not very loose, it just has a little bit of play in the neutral position. Would this be as simple as replacing the tie rod ends? Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Of course this could be just me too, as I recently purchased an M3 that is uber tight and now makes the once tight feeling 850 a little dissapointing. When I drove an explorer every day, the 850 felt like a race car, so it could be partly due to the extreme difference in feel of the M3.

For those euro car nuts...take a peak at my other passion that now occupies slot #2 in the garage...
