S70 engine light on S70 1998

My 98 S70 has it's check engine light on. The code is "vapor leak". I thought it was a simple as a gas cap. So I replaced it. No go. Can anyone tell me if there is a common problem that can be repaired easily? My inspection on the car is due and there are new rules in my state. They check the codes...Thanks, Darryl
