How to Bypass AC compressor switch? 850 1993

When it konks out it is just like it has been turned off - it stops blowing cold and starts blowing warmer and warmer and...

Haven't really nailed down how long or what gets it to restart. Basically seems the hotter and more humid the longer it needs to rest. Usually that mean engine off but has also come back after a hour driving once or twice. The other day with outside temp 73 it lasted until I turned off the car, about 30 minutes blowing out 40 degree air. Then with humid 80 degree day only ran about 10 minutes.

What times I've tried the recharge path (for lack of anything else to try) the pressure has always been up there in the 40s so I don't think I have a leak - even though it is a 93!

Tomorrow I plan on checking out Graham's suggestion in this thread about the clutch plate.

What are your ideas/theories?
