Door locks open, then close 850 1996

Lets call the position one enters their key inside the lock as the insertion position.

After I do a half turn counter-clockwise from the driver's door that one door unlocks - but when i bring the key back to the insertion position (to take the key out), that same door locks.

Considering my remote door lock/unlock control will only work so long - i am worried that i might be locked out of my car, even though i have the keys.

What more tests should i do, look for?
