850 vs. accord 850

it sounds like dumb question, but a friend said he liked my car (base 97 850 sedan), to which another friend (owns a 94 accord) said he didnt like volvos. 1st friend said that a 850 could dust an accord. Is that true? id rather not race to find out. i know the horsepowers specs, and the 850 is higher. 850 always felt sluggish to me. anyone with firsthand experience?
