ABS/TRACS lights - diagnose it, or just assume it's the control module? 850 1997

Hello,

My ABS and TRACS OFF lights just came on, and are staying on through multiple coldstarts. However, they did go off once for a few seconds. My generic OBDII scanner does not pick up any codes, but I guess that is to be expected? I have read some of the old posts on this board, plus the volvospeed/bay13 writeup. Sounds like most of the time it's a bad control module, but other causes are possible.

Question: Should I pursue a detailed diagnosis, or just assume it's the control module and send it to Vic Rocha? His website says he will make sure the unit is actually broken before he goes ahead and fixes it.

Thanks in advance.
